We are delighted to announce that Central Defensive Midfielder Ryan Moir has been promoted to senior team from our under 21 Youth Team.

The 18 year old was part of the team that won the Gaborone Region 2022/23 Youth League led by coach Vincent Kgaswane.

Masitaoka Football Club suffered a two-nil defeat from Township Rollers on Saturday, 7^th of October 2023 in Gaborone at the National stadium.

Thaloba Nthaga who was leading the team in his first official game as Head Coach, gave goalkeeper Tshomarelo More and striker Rameez Dharsey a nod to make their debut. The away team made a good start to the game dominating early exchange of play.

Majatlhaga fired the first shot when a thunderous Vuyo Mankanku strike was saved by Rollers goalkeeper Kabelo Maphakela on the 12th minute. Two minutes later, Rollers pulled the trigger with Segolame Boy’s shot on the wide right of the box going into net giving out opponents the lead on the 14th minute.

Rollers continued to dominate the first half, and this forced Coach Nthaga to make changes bringing in Obakeng Ramotlhwa and Ambrosius Amseb who quickly helped stabilize the midfield and the team would from there on take control of the game and also attack their opponents.

The game went to recess with Rollers leading one nil.

The introduction of Monty Enosa and Lethabo Ogotseng early second half added some sting to our attack with Monty Enosa’s half volley missing target by just an inch having beaten the Rollers keeper.

In the 62nd minute, a clever defence splitting pass from Amseb fell onto the path of Ogotseng making a good run into the box, only to be brought down by the Rollers defender and the referee choose to ignore the penalty appeals from Masitaoka players. Majatlhaga continued to search for the equalizer but luck was not on their side and Rollers killed off the game in the dying minutes of the game as Edwin Moalosi scored from a Rollers counter attack. The game ended two nil and the boys will hope to redeem themselves when they travel up north to take on Orapa United on the 18^th of October 2023 at Itekeng Stadium after the international break. The result leaves Masitaoka rock bottom of the log with no point.

“It was a tough game, we started a bit slow and after the changes we took control of the game and we were just unfortunate not to find the equalizing goal. We will bounce back and we now shift our focus to Orapa United game”, said Head Coach Thaloba Nthaga after the game.

Masitaoka FC can confirm the appointment of a new Captain and Vice-Captains ahead of the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

Central Olebogeng Ramotse will take up the Capataincy role with Eric Tjizake second in command and Obusitswe Gabadise as the 2nd Assistant Captain. This comes after the position fell vacant after the departure of Ivan Kamberipa to Orapa United in the past transfer window.

The 25-year-old has been consistent with his performances and sportsmanship approach which earned him Call-Ups to the Zebras National Team. He is the first player to reach 50 Official Appearances for the club in the Premier League Era.

Ramotse is expected to lead Majatlhaga for the first time when they face Township Rollers in the opening 2023/24 Botswana Premier League match tomorrow at the National Stadium.

Masitaoka FC is delighted to announce the signing of Attacking Midfielder Tefo Galani, signing a two-year deal which will run until June 2025.

The 21 year old skillful midfielder joins the club from Notwane FC.

Masitaoka FC is delighted to announce the signing of a Left Back Oabona Lolo Mangope on a two-year deal.

The 24 year old spent last season playing for Mogoditshane Fighters. Mangope also played for Sua Flamingoes as well as Under 20 National Team.

We are looking forward to seeing him develop further and help the team achieve the success we are aiming for.

Masitaoka FC is delighted to announce the signing of a South African Striker Rameez Dharsey from Sampdoria FC in the SAB Men’s Regional League.

He has signed a contract that will see him at Majatlhaga until June 2025.

The 26 year old has been handed jersey number 9. 

Masitaoka FC is pleased to announce the signing of a Central Defensive Midfielder Obakeng Senono on a two year deal.

The 24 year old who also played for Mogoditshane Fighters joins the club from Notwane FC.
